draco dormiens nunquam titillandus
Things James Potter was other than an arrogant bullying toerag:
- A “beloved boy” to Fleamont and Euphemia Potter
- A friend who risked his life every month for Remus Lupin’s safety and comfort
- A brother who took Sirius Black in and was “the best friend he ever had”
- An adored friend of half-giant Rubeus Hagrid, in an age when all “half-breeds” were looked upon with suspicion during the war
- A side of the double act which brought laughter to Madam Rosmerta
- An “all-time favourite student” of Minerva McGonagall, so much so that she waited all day at his son’s future home and wept at his death
- A saviour of his enemies even when they were trying to expose his friends’ secrets
- A Head Boy who was capable enough to be entrusted with the school
- A man so against Dark Magic that at his name being invoked, his loved ones changed their mind about vengeance
- An activist protecting the right of existence for Muggles and Muggle-borns right out of school
- A soldier who faced Voldemort three times and lived to tell about it
- A caring father who went into hiding to protect his son
- A loving husband who sacrificed his life for his family
- A faded trace of magic still trying to guide his son when the man that killed him returned to life
- A patronus helping Harry Potter through his darkest moments until the very end
As today is the anniversary of the battle of hogwarts, let us not only remember those we lost. Please also remember those who survived, and would never be the same again.
Remember how Ginny and Luna and Hermione duelled Bellatrix and lived. Even if Luna had spent months in her cellar and even if Hermione had been tortured by her far too recently.
Remember how even if he may have been the surviving twin, George would never feel whole again.
Remember Lavender fought and made it out barely, with an everlasting reminder of how close she was to death.
Remember how Sybill Trelawney fought for everyone who’d ridiculed her and did it in her own way by bombarding death eaters with glass balls.
Remember that Minerva Mcgonagall had to fight with her students against her students. How she would never stop feeling as if somehow she was responsible for their actions.
Remember how Narcissa lied to Voldemort and fought without a wand, because her son’s life would always matter more than her own.
Remember how Neville kept everyone’s hope up (in the movies) even if all seemed lost when Harry died. He finally felt like he made his parents proud. (Even if they would never recognize it)
Remember how Harry would forever feel guilty. Would forever feel as if he hadn’t done enough. As if somehow the thousands and thousands of lives he’d saved weren’t enough for the fifty he couldn’t.
Remember that surviving a war doesn’t come without cost.
That each and every person who fought in the battle of hogwarts would forever be changed by it and the war it ended.
They would never be the same.

Thoughts on the HP app?? I think it’s incredible so far.
i wonder when harry told ron and hermione that the dursleys used to make him live under the stairs
ron: i’m sorry you have to share my room we don’t have much space
harry: that’s fine i used to sleep under the stairs at the dursleys
ron: you slept where now?
Sometimes I just sit and think about how the Weasleys (Esp Ron, Molly & Arthur) must have been so confused and the filled with righteously hot anger at the thought of people who had more than enough resources, purposefully making a child do without. Without a proper room, without proper clothing, and without proper affection.
If you think Arthur and Molly didn’t lock themselves in their room and weep about that, then you don’t know them at all.
If you think little Ron didn’t have straight up anxiety attacks about Harry having to go back there every summer, then you are wrong.
